Welcome Back to High Desert Middle School!

I hope you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful summer. As we prepare to welcome students back to campus, I want to say how excited I am for the year ahead.

Many of you already know me from my time as principal at Copper Rim Elementary School. During that time, I had the privilege of working alongside hundreds of incredible families and watching thousands of students learn, grow, and succeed. Many of those same students are now walking the halls of High Desert Middle School.

People often say, "Once a Tiger, always a Tiger," and I couldn't agree more. I am a Tiger through and through. While my office has moved from Copper Rim to High Desert, my commitment to serving students and families throughout our community remains exactly the same. I look forward to continuing to work alongside you as your children take the next exciting step in their educational journey through middle school.

These three words represent much more than a slogan—they represent the culture we are building together. At High Desert Middle School, we believe every student deserves to feel safe, supported, challenged, and valued. We are committed to creating a school where students are encouraged to take risks, learn from mistakes, celebrate success, and grow into confident young adults.

Our belief is simple:

Together we learn. Together we grow.

This year also brings exciting opportunities for learning with the implementation of our new Core and Flex schedule. This schedule provides dedicated time for teachers to respond to student learning through additional support, reteaching, intervention, and enrichment. Every student learns differently, and this schedule gives us greater flexibility to meet students where they are while helping them reach their full potential.

We also know that student success depends on a strong partnership between school and home. We encourage families to stay connected by communicating with teachers, monitoring student progress through ParentVUE, and participating in school activities whenever possible. When schools and families work together, students thrive.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. It is truly an honor to serve this community, and I am excited to continue this journey with many familiar faces while welcoming new families into the HDMS family.
